“Where no plan is laid, where the disposal of time is surrendered merely to the chances of incident, chaos will soon reign.” - Victor Hugo
Food For Thought
- I don’t have the time to plan.
- I am too busy.
- I like to do things spontaneously.
- I don’t have the discipline.
- I may die tomorrow, so why bother planning?
- Things never go according to plan.
Sound familiar?
These statements are often the consequence of not having a plan. If you have a plan, somehow, you have more time. Other people can no longer dispose of your time at will. You are in charge when you have a plan. When you have a plan and circumstances dictate that you can’t carry out your plan exactly the way you intended; you have the opportunity to change your plan. The person with no plan doesn’t even know when he or she is being taken off track.
Life without a plan is like going shopping without a shopping list. It will cost you two of the most valuable commodities: time and money.
